For years pest control companies have used poison bait to kill gophers in lawns, gardens and other landscaped areas of both residential and commercial properties. These methods are dangerous for pets, especially dogs, who can ingest the poison by digging the poison up or eating a gopher who has eaten the poison. This is equally dangerous for other non-target wildlife such as hawks, raccoons, and coyotes
